Fairfield County Chapter
Lineage Societies

 

 

  1. To identify and honor your early ancestors of Fairfield County, Ohio
  2. To recognize the proven descendants of the early families of Fairfield County
  3. To encourage quality genealogical research necessary to discover these early families' identities and to prove the connections between them and their descendants

 

Fairfield County has two lineage societies which are described below. You must first be a member of the Fairfield County Chapter OGS in order to be considered for a society.

A non-refundable application fee of $20.00 is required with your initial application for each society to which you apply. Supplemental papers require a fee of $10.00.

All applications and documentation must be in paper format only.

Please download and read our guideline document before beginning. (Download here) This document also contains a checklist which will aid in obtaining all necessary documents

The application deadline is November 1 of each year for all societies.

Fairfield County Pioneers

 

 

Fairfield County Pioneers recognizes and celebrates the early pioneers who settled in our county prior to 1821. To become a member of Fairfield County Pioneers, you must prove that your ancestor lived in Fairfield County prior to 1 January 1821.

The geographical area considered Fairfield County is depicted in this map. (View here) Since these boundaries changed, the documentation proving residency must specify “Fairfield County”.

Fairfield County Settlers

 

 

Fairfield County Settlers recognizes and celebrates the early settlers of our county who settled here between 1821 and 1851. To become a member of Fairfield County Settlers, you must prove that your ancestor lived in Fairfield County between 1 January 1821 and 31 December 1850.

The geographical area considered Fairfield County is depicted in this map. (View here) Since these boundaries changed, the documentation proving residency must specify “Fairfield County”.
