Am seeking information on James H. JOHNSON born circa 1800 in
Maryland. James married Mary PAXTON in Guernsey County, Ohio 10 April 1823. Mary was born
in Pennsylvania circa 1805, and I believe her father was Samuel PAXTON. The family is
found on the Greenfield Township, Fairfield County, Ohio 1850 Census with the following
children: Samuel P. age 22; William age 21; James age 19; Jane age 11; (My great
grandmother); Hamilton age 6; Washington age 3; and Mary age 6 months. Mary PAXTON JOHNSON
was not found on the 1870 Fairfield County census and James H. JOHNSON was not found on
the 1880 Fairfield County censu. Who were the parents of James and Mary PAXTON JOHNSON?
When did they die and where Researching Henry Sines 1820 and 1830 Fairfield, Co. census finds
him in Greenfield Twp. His son Simon is married in Williams Co. Oh. in 1843, and buys land
from a Hanna family. Henry is located in Hancock Co. Ohio on 1840 and 1850 census. He is
living by Simon in 1860 in Wms. Co. Oh. and died in 1861. He is listed as a veteran in the
War of 1812. His wife's name Dr. Joseph Bury (late 1700 or early 1800's was said to be a
physician from Bern, Switzerland who brought his family first to PA and then on to Ohio.
He had a son, Dr. Joseph Bury (2nd one), who went to medical school in PA and then
practiced in OH. The first Dr. Joseph Bury was married to Anna Marie ____? Bury. The
second Dr. Joseph Bury married Anna Doomy, daughter of John Doomy (Thoman was also given
as an alternate name???) WRIGHT/WINTERSTEEN Mr. Elmer Denniston wrote a book on the Stukey, Ream, Clem, Grove
surnames. I have been trying to fill in the gaps of the last sixty years from the book
published in 1939. I am a direct descendant of John and Salome (Zimmerman) Stukey. Seeking
the descendants of John Stukey and Salome Zimmerman Stukey these are their children and
spouses. I'm looking for the John Shimp ancestors I know he was born on
April 1st. 1845 in Fairfield Co. Oh. He was married to Sarah C Holmes on Feb 10, 1875. I
know he had 4 brothers David, Looking for information about my grandparents. Carey E. MURPHY
(1872-1910) married Nelle SCHLEICH (1873?-1942). They had one child Edwin Hay MURPHY,
raised by Nelle after Carey's death, and who had his name legally changed to Robert E.

DeLong the 23 Mar. 1843 in Fairfield Co. OH. Jacob was from Ross Co. OH. John P. Miller
was one of the wittnesses at the wedding, but was he a parent or a brother? The Millers
were supposed to be from VA, but I don't know where in VA. Jacob was b. 1819 probably in
Ross Co. OH. His father was Jacob DeLong who was from PA, Berks Co. or Schuylkill Co. PA.
He married Catherine Mowery, whose father was Johannes Maurer/Mowery who settled in
Pickaway Co. OH. I would like information about the names of the Millers and where they
lived in OH, for sure, and where they came from in VA. (If they are from there. Any help
would be appreciated. I am looking for members of the Dindore family and their relatives.
The Dindore family have lived in Fairfield County around the Hamburg area since 1837. The
original settler was George Dindore and his wife Sarah Jane Hoffheins. I have information
to share about this family. I am also interested in the following associated families from
the Fairfield county area: Sawyer, Harper, Hoffheins, Pearce, McCleery, Rymer, Bossler,
Hedgel, Presler, Harman, and Hartman. Looking for information on William Winfield ROSE, reported to have
died November 17, 1950 IN Fairfield Co.. His parents were Francis Marion ROSE and Margaret
ROBINSON. William and his sister Emma, who married a SWICK reportedly moved to Fairfield
Co. from Harrison Co. OH, date unknown. Seeking information on John and Elizabeth (Hardwick) Cross; Rev.
War soldier from Virginia who d in Fairfield Co Oh. Looking for connection to ASA MOUNTS and his family, Mother,
Father, Brothers, and Sisters to him. He was supposed to have been born in Hocking
Township, Fairfied County, Ohio, in 1816. He shows up on the 1820 Census of Hocking
Township at that time. I do not know if he was there in 1830. He is next known to have
married a Margaret Camack in Parke County Indiana in 1837. Next there is a record of
having married a Elizabeth Halzin in Tazewell County, Illinois in 1844. He had a son named
John in 1841, born in Illinois. He is in Lee County, Iowa in 1850, in Montgomery County,
Missouri in 1860 and back to Davis County, Iowa in 1870. He may have had a Brother called
Joseph who proceeded him to Iowa. Need to verify his birth, and family in Ohio. I would like to have info on the descendants of Thomas BAILY, who
married Barbary HITE, 19 May 1809. Graham, Grier, Friesner, Beery, Engle, Notestone, Poling, Rarick,
Sietz and Swartz I'm interested in finding information on Joseph Pearson
(Parson/Pierson) and his descendants. Joseph is buried in the township of Rush Creek, near
Bremen, in the Jerusalem Cemetery (located with the German Reformed Church). His last name
on his headstone is spelled "Parson" but all census records, for him and his
descendants, have it listed as Pearson. Joseph was born, per his stone, on August 12, 1781
and died April 11, 1843. We know that Joseph married Margaret (Bixler) Wager in Lancaster
on March 2, 1823. Both had been married before. Joseph and Margaret had the following
children: Susannah (born: January 15, 1824), Simon (born April 1, 1825), Joseph (born
November 18, 1826), John (born May 16, 1828), Enos (born June 17, 1829), Noah (born March
4, 1831), David (born: February 21, 1834), Peter (born September 28, 1836), and Margaret
Ann (born January 22, 1842). We know that Margaret (Bixler) Wager was previously married
to a William Wager, married Oct 26, 1816 in Knox County, Ohio. They had one daughter
Elizabeth Wager (born May 15, 1817). Elizabeth married an Adam Strohl April 11, 1841 in
Hocking County, Ohio. We believe that Joseph Pearson was born in Chester County,
Pennsylvania. We alsobelieve that his first wife was Mary Kountzman. We positively know
that Joseph had the following children from this first marriage: Abraham (born September
1808), Amy Pearson (born about 1818), Zephaniah Pearson (born About 1818), Eliza Pearson,
George Pearson (born About 1811), and Jesse Pearson (born about 1808). I am looking for information for Joseph Landes (Landis/Sandes), who
had a son named Jacob born in Fairfield County in February 1820. Am searching for info on John S. ASHBAUGH, m Catherine LECRONE.
Catherine born 1821, Pa. John S. native of Fairfield Co, born Feb. 1818.. Father of John

parents of David Harman who married Barbary HAYWARD and raised their family in Gallia Co.,
OH. We understand that John Harman's father was Frederick Harman; his father was Konad
Harman who emmigrated to the area from Germany. I am trying to locate information on ggrandparents Abraham
SHOWALTER & Magdaline HOLDER Showalter. They were married at the parsonage of the M.
E. Church in Baltimore, OH Feb 26, 1863. I next find them in Licking Co. where their name
on the census is spelled Sowaller or Sowalter (hard to read). Does anyone know if the

I am a descendant of Nicholas RADEBAUGH who moved to Fairfield
County from PA - purchased land in Sec. 6, Pleasant Twp. (now the site of the Pleasant
Valley Golf Course) on 20 Dec 1808. Three generations of this family are buried in the
