Have just returned from research trip to Fairfield Co. and still have questions. Searching Alexander Barnes b. abt. 1794 in Maryland, married 1822 in Maryland to Mary Ann Rizer. They are in the 1850 through 1870 Fairfield census, which seems to show three children: son M.R. b. about 1836, and daughters Margaret b. abt 1842 and Caroline/Elizabeth b. about 1847. The
Lancaster Gazette says that both Alexander and wife Mary Ann died in January 1873. There also is mentioned that daughter Mrs. Margaret McKeever had died the previous August (1872.)  Alexander Barnes has no land records in Fairfield Co., perhaps because he was a blacksmith, and then in 1870 was Toll Gate Keeper in Richland Township. I could not find a tombstone reading for this family. Does anyone descend from this family? Have Rizer data back for several generations.

Trying to prove that Aaron Peters is the son of Philip Peters and Mary Ashbrook. Philip Peters died in Walnut Twp, Fairfield, OH,1817, leaving Mary with several small children. Have no idea if Mary remarried. Probate records were not filled with the normal amounts of information (Mary is referred to as "Widow Peters). Two were Ashbrook girls, Rebeka and Mary (his last wife). Aaron and Mary moved from the Walnut Twp to 80 acres up on the Union County line near Marion County, OH. It was Rebekka (died 1841 in Faifield County, OH) who had the two children, 1) Lyman (b. 1835--my line) and Camantha. A visit to Clark Co. found zilch as did a couple hours in Lancaster. I did find the page at Ct.of Common Pleas that had his name listed as being naturalized. But I could not find anything else to help me prove he is the Valentine Kastner related to me. I have all sorts of info on his two sons born in Ohio and burial in Dayton, Oh.but cannot find out anything about Valentine or his supposed French wife, Marcelle D'Arcy. I'm not an experienced genealogy explorer, but am very interested in finding out what I can on the Kastner Family.

Searching for wife and children of Jonathan LOOKER of Rockingham Co., Va. (son of James Looker and Frances Russell Looker). Jonathan's father had purchased land through the eastern edge of the current town of Pickerington. Apparently James Looker never came to Ohio, but all of Jonathan's siblings came to Fairfield County, including brother Joseph LOOKER (both born 1790 - twins?). In his father's will, all of Jonathan's siblings received money and land in the Pickerington area; Jonathan received money, but no land.
