Am searching for information on John L.
Slawson b 16 Dec 1814 in Lancaster, OH. He married Elizabeth______. They
had a daughter Susan b 1845 in OH. They then moved to Morgan Co. AL where
daughters Frances A. was b 1849 and Abugale b 1850. The family later moved
to Alexander Co., IL where Frances A. married Edward DesEnfants 24
December 1865. I am looking for any information on the Slawson family. Christina WINSTEAD was b. 1816 in Amanda
Twp. Fairfield Co Oh. In Aug of 1841 she married Martin FULKERSON in
Pickaway Co Oh where they settled and raised a large family. I need
information on the WINSTEAD family. In my research I have the following:Henry
and Mary Helmsing of Bern Township. Susan Fisher Helmsing, wife of Henry
II and daughter of Nicholas and Rhoda Fisher of Hocking Township. Any
family history in or before Fairfield County would interest me and would
be willing to update until their deaths and buriel. I am looking for further information about
Peter Spitler, married Margaret Pontion (Portion?) on 8/5/1819, and their
son, Peter Spitler Jr., who was born around 1822 and married Sarah
Lavesque (b.1821) on 10/17/1847. My wife's great grandfather, Joseph Geil,
came from Fairfield County. We have information on his family in Iowa and
that of his brother, Jacob. We would like to share this information and to
get information on the rest of the Geil family. Joseph Geil was the son of
Christian Geil and Polly Rudolph. Research family of Thomas Crissinger,
married Susannah Woodring in Oakland 1843. Susannah's father was Henry
Woodring, mother Mary. Aunt was Ann Grimm. Looking for son of Susannah and
Thomas named Otis and daughter Lucinda. Otis born in 1852, Lucinda 1850
both in Fairfield and Pickaway co. in 1860. Also researching Joseph
Workman and David Jewett. Researching John Cain who married Elizabeth
Brandt probably about 1815. She may have been married previously to
a Mohler/Mouler/Moler. Her father was Ludwig Brandt, Sr. John and
Elizabeth's children were: Lewis, John, Isaiah, James, Eliza and Mary. SHUPE, Isaac C. married Lucinda CHRISINGER.
Son James, born July 1,1878 died Sept. 14, 1956 in Zanesville. James is
buried in Lancaster, Fairfield Co. Any information on Isaac would be
helpful. I am searching for the relative of Chrisinger. I also need
information on Otis Chrisinger born 1852 in Pickaway Co. Also JEWETT and

Lancaster, Fairfield Co. in the 1830s from Bavaria, via France. He had
been in Napoleon's army. His wife was Charlotte. They had two daughters
and a son Martin and a son Franz. Franz jr. died not long after they
arrived. Martin went to Indiana then to Missouri. We know nothing of what
became of any one but Martin...and know lots about him. I am looking to exchange information on the
CRAMPTON family listed in the 1830 Fairfield County OH census (Bern Twp).
Moses CRAMPTON and children: Levi, Elias, Emanuel, Moses, Francis and
Allen. There could be more children. Moses and family moved from Fairfield

Lemuel STEEl who enlisted from Fairfield County in 1812. He was born in
about 1786, and died in 1855 Logan County. I would like information about BITLERS in
the Lancaster area. Samuel Bitler and his wife Mary White Bitler arrived
there about 1833. She died, and he relocated to Missouri by 1840. I want
info about Mary White, which would probably be only a grave inscription.

Charles Wesley b 6/17/1910 was my grandfather, his father, Nelson Leroy
/Leroy Nelson b 2/5/1887 in Clearcreek Township, mother Laura Esther
Smith, b 1891, d 4/11/1923 in Hocking County. Nelson and Laura had 4
children. Nelson's parents were Charles, b 7/7/1847, d 9/26/1904 in
Fairfield County (Oakland) and Martha Fausnaugh, b 3/30/1848, d
12/16/1894. Charles and Martha had 6 children. Charles may have had
another wife prior to Martha (Ella?). I'm hoping to locate parents and
siblings of Charles and Martha as well as information on Nelson's
siblings. Looking for info on Frederick & Mary
Evans Eruman who came to Fairfield Co. and there built the second house
erected in that town. He was a hatter.Later sold and moved to Royalton
where he purchased 320 acres of land. It is noted that he is buried on the
farm of Valentine Reber about halfway between Lancaster and Circleville,
Oh. some time around 1824. Would love to know if the graves are still

This 79 year old WW II veteran attended Looking for father of Wilson Koontz m.
Christena Pfost/Hannah Crites. Wilson was born 1815/1818 as written in
family Bible record with children Hannah, Isaac, Elizabeth,George
Washington,and Melissa Koontz. Wilson's probable siblings: Elias, Henry,
Nancy, Melissa, Julia, Gideon, and Elihua according to internet research.
No birth records can be found on Wilson in Virginia. I am trying to confirm the identity of a
picture taken in Lancaster at the J. J. WOLFE Studio at what I believe to
be around 1892. I am fairly certain that photo is of David O. and Annie
GRIGGS PETTY of Somerset area with the first three of their children.
Since child number four was born in 1893, Estella, the photo was taken
prior to then. Could someone confirm that the Wolfe studio was in

b. abt 1862, D. 1937, was listed as living in Millersport, Fairfield, Co.
Ohio at one time. He married a Francis Woehrlin (Woerlien). They adopted
my husbands mother about 1913. Her birth name is believed to have been
Dorothy Lyn, b. 1-9-1911. Her adopted name was Louise Elizabeth Hoepfner
(d. 1957 from comPlications of TB.) My grandfather, Henry Edward Lake, wrote on
his marriage application that his mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Lake
(? if this was really her maiden name or her married name written by
mistake). She had him about 1857 in Ohio (probably Fairfield County) and
her name was Elizabeth Fisher when she married Nathaniel M. Lake in 1858
in Fairfield County, OH. I would like to know when she was born, who her

The name has been spell several different ways:Shaffer, Shaefer. Isaac
Shaeffer and Rosannah(Rosanna) were married as Shaffer. Ephriam discharge
papers list him as Shaefer. Seeking information about Charles and
Robert Ward and perhaps George, all sons of William Ward who moved from
Virginia to Ohio in 1802. Some of the family settled in Pickaway County

She is mentioned in a court document during the time of Charles' estate
settlement as the youngest daugher of the 11 children of Charles and Mary
Sherman BUT elsewhere I have found the youngest daughter listed as Frances
Beecher??? Can anyone help me determine once and for all if Jane Sherman
